7 Tips to get YOU BACK IN THOSE JEANS

“I want to fit back into my skinny jeans” is one of the most common phrases I hear in a week. I always follow that response with- WHY? I learned that it wasn’t just fitting in the skinny pants that they wanted; it was the feelings that came with it. It was the confidence it made them feel, or the fact that they could say a lower number when shopping for new clothes. No matter what the reason, it always came down to fitting into “those jeans”. So here is a compiled list of what YOU need to do to get into those jeans FOREVER.

Step #1

STOP WAITING FOR MONDAY.

Your jeans have no idea what day of the week it is, nor do they care. Monday will NEVER come, or there will always be another event that will postpone it. After the holiday, or reunion or …………… the list goes on and on. Make this second- right now- your Monday and get started!

Step #2

START SMALL

Yay- we are proud that you have decided to make today Monday, but now what? There are 100000’s of “How-To’s” or tips or a articles out there to teach you to get started. The best tip of all is: start small. Today does not have to be a life altering change (it will be in the end), but let’s be practical for a moment and just recognize that we are going to do something. If you’re sitting by a bag of chips right now- just toss them out. That’s a start in the right direction.

Step #3

SET A SMALL GOAL TO START THAT YOU CAN MASTER QUICK

The hardest part for most people is to just get going. So, let’s do that by setting ourselves up for success. Choose a goal that you can do very quickly to get the positive vibes flowing. Step #4

CELEBRATE EVERY SUCCESS

To keep yourself going- let’s celebrate! You got to your 8 glass goal and even did a little extra? HIGH FIVE! That’s a win. Every win is a building block. Each week we see people losing tonnes and tonnes of inches, and then we will have a slow week and they beat themselves up. They just need a reminder that every step forward is a step in the right direction- a win is a WIN.

Step #5

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS

Now we have made some great progress and it’s time to keep that momentum going. We need to set our lives up for success. Stop buying bad foods and putting them in the house. Stop booking other events during your workout times. The more you set yourself up for a win, the better. Have a look at your life now and choose something small that we can achieve right now.

Step #6

DON’T WORRY ABOUT FREIENDS AND FAMILY

I am not saying do not love these people, I just mean do not let them suck you back in. No one will ever want for you… what you want for you, simple as that. It is easier for them to tell you to stop, then it is for them to start. So, make up your mind and your plan and stick to it. If someone wants to join your journey- GREAT, but the journey is yours with or without themJ

FORGET ABOUT THE PANTS AND LOVE IT

By all means, keep the pants, but forget about them for a little while. Focus on the process and soon enough those pants will slide on like a dream. If you put too much pressure on yourself to fit into the pants it could end of having a negative effect. Instead, focus on the feeling good about setting and smashing goals, and feeling good in your own skin
